Getting In (Pt 3) – The set back

February 10th, 2012 · 2 Comments

So today I was going to discuss part of my plan to get in to Australian Agriculture (which I will still do below)

First I want to tell you that the following plan WILL NOT be going ahead.

I received and email last night that said the plan below couldn’t go ahead due to external factors of the other party

While it is a shame and a definite set back, in this time I am reminded of a quote: “Be grateful for setbacks. They are opportunities for even more improvements”

So here were my former plans, it will be an overview and not contain many small details but the main gist of the plan will be here

The basic plan was for me to buy calfs and sell them when they were yearlings at the local saleyards

The cattle would be in Queensland and I would pay the owner 25% of the final sale price for using the land and looking after my herd.

The cattle I would buy were only a few weeks old and would be hand raised for a few months before they got on to grass

Some of the benefits would be
Very young herd

Bugger, I was looking forward to hearing how you went with this – I was planning on doing something very similar myself. Do you have an email address I can reach you on? I’ve got a couple of questions I’d really like to ask you..
